Master’s Degrees in Marketing
Although there will be many marketing job opportunities in the coming years, competition for this kind of work will also be tight. Applicants should take advantage of advanced degrees, such as a master’s degree in marketing, to vie for the best jobs. Some background in science and technology is also desirable, because those areas are projected to see the greatest demands for qualified employees.
Median earnings for advertising and marketing jobs are currently between $63,631 and $83,729 according to the BLS. Median salaries jump to over $100,000 for those who deal with computer products. The BLS also reports that salary levels vary substantially, depending on the level of managerial responsibility, length of service, education, size of firm, location, and industry. Clearly, an advanced degree can play an important part in your salary and employability.
