Global Marketing Online Master's Degree Programs Open Up Your Job World

by John MacGregor
Online Masters Degrees Programs Columnist

The global economy is placing new demands on marketing specialists, and a master’s degree from an accredited school can prepare you for a wealth of new job opportunities. In particular, scientific and business products will demand more marketing, according the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

Master’s Degrees in Marketing

Although there will be many marketing job opportunities in the coming years, competition for this kind of work will also be tight. Applicants should take advantage of advanced degrees, such as a master’s degree in marketing, to vie for the best jobs. Some background in science and technology is also desirable, because those areas are projected to see the greatest demands for qualified employees.

Median earnings for advertising and marketing jobs are currently between $63,631 and $83,729 according to the BLS. Median salaries jump to over $100,000 for those who deal with computer products. The BLS also reports that salary levels vary substantially, depending on the level of managerial responsibility, length of service, education, size of firm, location, and industry. Clearly, an advanced degree can play an important part in your salary and employability.

Online Master’s Degrees Make It Convenient

With an online program, you can study on your own terms and complete your program as soon as you’re able to. Or you can stretch the program out over a longer time to make room in your schedule for professional or family commitments. Plus, you’ll never have to find a place to park on a busy campus! In the new global marketing job market, the jobs are there: will you be?
